Visiting Hours and Scheduling at Lenawee County Jail
The Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office operates visitation at the Lenawee County Jail. Face-to-face visits for friends and family are not conducted at the jail. Instead, visits take place electronically through inmate tablets, either from a visitor’s personal electronic device or from a video booth at the jail. Before arranging a visit, the visitor should confirm that the inmate is still held at the jail. A GettingOut account is required for electronic visitation.
How to Schedule a Visit at the Lenawee County Jail
Confirm the inmate is still held at the Lenawee County Jail. A visit depends on the inmate remaining at the facility and having access to the jail’s visitation system.
Create a GettingOut account. Friends and family must set up an account through GettingOut before using electronic visitation.
Wait until the inmate has tablet access. Electronic visits become available after the inmate is housed in general population and has access to a tablet.
Choose the available form of electronic visitation. Friends and family can use a personal electronic device, including a cellular phone. Visitors without a suitable device can use the video visitation booths at the jail.
Visiting Hours
The on-site video visitation area at the Lenawee County Jail is available seven days a week. Its hours of operation are 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The booths are provided for friends and family who do not have a personal electronic device for a video visit.
Electronic visits depend on the inmate being housed in general population and having access to a tablet. Face-to-face visitation for friends and family is not part of the regular visitation arrangement.
Visitor Requirements and Rules
Set up a GettingOut account. This account is the required starting point for friends and family using the electronic visitation system.
Use visitation only after the inmate receives tablet access. The inmate must be in general population and able to use a tablet before friends and family can conduct an electronic visit.
Visitors must follow appropriate conduct during electronic visits. Improper conduct can result in suspension of visiting privileges for the visitor, the inmate, or both. Nudity and sexually explicit material are specifically included as prohibited conduct.
Remote and On-Site Video Visits
GettingOut is the electronic visitation provider used for friends and family. Remote visits can be conducted from a personal electronic device, including a cellular phone. Visitors who need equipment can use the video booths in the jail’s visitation area.
Both options remain electronic. Regular face-to-face visits between inmates and friends or family are prohibited at the Lenawee County Jail. The inmate participates through a jail tablet after receiving access in general population.
Visit Access Changed or Canceled
Electronic visitation cannot proceed through the regular friends-and-family system until the inmate is in general population and has access to a tablet. Visiting privileges can also be suspended because of improper conduct during a visit. Before traveling to use an on-site booth, the visitor should confirm that the inmate remains at the jail and that visitation access is available.
